Once of the reasons the acid reflux issue has been so disconcerting is that it seemed Emery wasn't progressing as quickly as we would have liked in some areas of his development. Aside from the lack of smiling I've mentioned before, he didn't make eye contact or track very well and his little hands were always in fists-- he was so tense all the time. At our doctor's visit last week, our pediatrician said that while the medicine is helping, it hasn't removed all the pain from our little patient... so he might be behind the curve for a bit. However, it seems we've turned a corner! Tonight, on the eve of his 15th week of life, we had a peaceful evening staring in each other's eyes, his tiny hands grasping mine. As sweet Brooke's blog attests, this is the life!
