Day 3

After a disastrous first day of swim lessons, Emery's second day was awesome!
When we arrived, I asked Ben, his teacher, to focus only on Emery having fun and enjoying the water.
They did just that-- playing in the kids' area, blowing bubbles for the fish, and even going down the big 2 story slide 9 times in a row! I couldn't have been more pleased and was anxious for him to complete his third and final day.

But then I locked my keys in the house as we were heading to the lesson and Nate had to come home from work to let us in. Nonna was already there with Brooklyn, so she came out to the parking lot and grabbed Emery and took him in to the lessons late. It went downhill from there. I got Ruby out of the car and headed towards the sounds of my son screaming bloody murder.

He spent the next 10 minutes trying to get away from his teacher.

Ben tried to distract and get him to go on the big slide,
which had been such a blast for Emery the day before.

His scream said it all.
No go.

It was painful to watch and even worse to hear.

Here he his, forming the word, "MOMMY".

He swallowed quite a bit of water, to say the least.

I finally took Ben out of his misery and Emery collapsed in my arms.
We cuddled for a minute while we both regrouped, and then headed home.

I cancelled his scheduled swim lessons for next week.
We're waiting until next YEAR.
