tree time

The first Christmas we shared as cute marrieds, we bought a little tree to fit our little apartment. I felt grown up and it smelled wonderful. It displayed the 7 ornaments we had perfectly. I don't have a picture, but it looked a little something like this, minus the middle aged woman:

The next year, we got a great Black Friday deal on a little fake tree that fit our cozy first house.
It displayed the 23 ornaments we had perfectly.

Without a fireplace, we improvised. The stocking were hung... round the bookshelf.

Last Christmas, we had just moved into our new house, which is a bit more spacious than the first.
We tried using the quaint little fake tree. It was only about 5 feet too short. Brooklyn did the honors of placing the star atop the tree, which was perched upon a very tall coffee table in an attempt to help fill in the room.

Today, we bought a new fake tree. Bigger than the first, it should fill the space a bit more dramatically.
Brooklyn, we're waiting for you to come do the honors again.

p.s. Nate is still working out all the lighting kinks, hence the dark midsection.
I was out running errands tonight and called home to check on things.
He said there was a problem but that luckily it wasn't noticeable. Really.
I tried not to notice when I got home, but I wasn't very convincing.
No matter, we're still excited that Christmas has finally made it to our home this year!

  1. What a fun little journey of the trees!
Your new tree is beautiful! And whether or not the midsection gets fixed, it is still perfect!
