Happy, happy birthday, Emery dear!
Here's the breakdown of the day-long celebration.
Breakfast for the champion
He got dressed in his spiffy Birthday Boy shirt and played with his new favorite iPod toy for a bit.
We had lunch and then drove to pick up Brooklyn from school. It was her LAST day as a 3rd grader! The clock seemed to stand still for all the wiggly kids anxious for summer.
Emery and I got to be in her class for about 20 minutes as the students shared what their summer plans were.
Brooklyn's tooth was loose-- how much better could this day get?!?
And then it was over. One last picture with her fabulous teacher.
On the way out to the car, she was able to get her Principal to sign her yearbook. What a treat!
Emery was thrilled to spend some one-on-one time with his cousin!
Because B got out of school early, we headed to "This Is The Place" for an afternoon of fun with the Jiles. Susannah insisted that Emery open his present before we left the visitor's center. She was very excited to help him with the wrapping.
There was a kids play area where B and S made a quick stop before we headed outside.
It was cold, windy, and rainy-- but the girls were smiling anyway!
We waited for the train to take us on the tour.
Emery entertained himself with his new toy (thanks again Susannah!).
The birthday boy got a kiss from his sweet.
Blustery weather didn't stop us from visiting the Indian tepees and riding the mini train!
Emery loved the mini train, but was not happy to get back into his stroller on the way to get ice cream.
With clenched fists, he expressed himself loudly.
The girls got to visit the schoolhouse and learn about the pioneer children that attended it.
And Emery was happy once again.
This was certainly the place for fun!
Fun for everyone except Jack, who was unhappy with Emery's "love tugs".
As if we hadn't had enough of an amazing day, we were able to meet up with daddy, Uncle Andy, and soon-to-be Auntie Julie for dinner and arcade games (what 1 year old doesn't love pinball??).
Dance, dance.
It was a wonderfully long day of happiness with friends and family.
And he slept like a log that night...

Love the play by play. My favorite is his clenched fists. Happy Birthday!
